Job Overview

As a Wireless Technician at Level-7 Internet, you are responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of customer equipment. This role requires you to be highly technical, safety-conscious and requires that you work well both individually and as part of a team.
This role is open to candidates of all backgrounds and abilities.

Qualifications & Skills

Education, Certifications & Experience

  • A valid drivers license is essential for travel to customer premises.
  • Previous experience working in an ISP or telecommunications environment is highly beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network equipment is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Computer literate with a good understanding of networking technologies, including routers, wireless antennas and cabling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues and perform basic configuration and maintenance of networking equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in challenging indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.

Additional Requirements 

  • Relevant technical certifications are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Installation of Customer Equipment

  • Carry out the installation of wireless antennas, routers, network cabling, power cabling, masts and brackets as required by customer specifications as well as any other site specific equipment.
  • Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and best practices for performance and safety.

Configuration of Equipment

  • Configure wireless antennas and routers to ensure optimal performance and connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the equipment or network.

Stock & Equipment Management

  • Manage and maintain order and cleanliness of company stock, equipment and vehicles.
  • Ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available for installation and maintenance tasks.

Ad-Hoc Duties

  • Perform any additional duties as required by the company, including assisting with special projects, troubleshooting customer issues and supporting other team members.
